About
Mission
Published by the Association for Asian Studies, Education About Asia (EAA) is a peer-reviewed pedagogy journal with a two-part mission: first, the journal aims to equip educators with the resources necessary to introduce and enhance the study of Asia in their curricula; and second, the journal aims to increase student interest and engagement in Asian Studies at the secondary and post-secondary level.
Scope of Publication
Education About Asia publishes accessible introductory overviews on topics of broad interest in Asian Studies that are appropriate to be assigned as readings in secondary school classrooms and/or undergraduate survey courses. We also publish a range practical pedagogical resource materials such as lesson plans, classroom activities, discussion and comprehension questions, assessment strategies, resource guides, and more.
Following our 2026 relaunch as an open-access online journal, in addition to traditional feature articles, we are also soliciting a wide range of multimedia materials for publication, including podcasts, video content, PowerPoint slides, and more.
Education About Asia resources cover all disciplines and areas of Asia, with a focus on topics that align with secondary school curriculum requirements and/or student interest.
